Notes on web-based photos of watercolor paintings

It is difficult to capture in a photo the subtle glazes and nuances of light and color in a watercolor painting. These difficulties are compounded when you consider that many computer monitors can only reliably render a narrow range of colors, and there are also variations from monitor to monitor in the way they render color. Thus the photos included on this page are at best a compromise when compared with the original. Please make sure your monitor is adjusted to a 'neutral' color and brightness setting, otherwise the subtlety of colour in the photos may be affected.
